LLC - Logic Link Control é a subcamada mais alta da Camada de enlace no modelo OSI de sete camadas. Ele fornece mecanismos de multiplexação e controle de fluxo que torna possível para os vários protocolos de rede (IP, IPX) conviverem dentro de uma rede multiponto e serem transportados pelo mesmo meio da rede.
IPX - Internetwork Packet Exchange é um protocolo que utiliza datagramas, ou seja, cada pacote é tratado como uma entidade individual, não possuindo nenhuma relação lógica ou de seqüência com outros pacotes.
SPX - Sequenced Packet Exchange verifica e reconhece a efetivação da entrega dos pacotes a qualquer nó da rede pela troca de mensagens de verificação entre os nós de origem e de destino. A verificação do SPX inclui um valor que é calculado a partir dos dados antes de transmiti-los e que é recalculado após a recepção, devendo ser reproduzido exatamente na ausência de erros de transmissão.
LDAP - Lightweight Directory Access Protocol é um protocolo para atualizar e pesquisar diretórios rodando sobre TCP/IP. Um diretório LDAP geralmente segue o modelo X.500, que é uma árvore de nós, cada um consistindo de um conjunto de atributos com seus respectivos valores.
